Sheriff's Website Hacked

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office website was hacked, possibly by a group of international hackers known as the Turkish Hackers. It is not believed that any sensitive information was lost, only the website for a short time. The Hackers left a tag of a red demon dancing around the word hacked to Moroccan music on the sheriff’s website. The old site is however, back up and running at this time. Reports indicate Sheriff Robert Arnold had previously warned the county I-T department about vulnerability of their internet service and website, but he says they were too slow to react.  The county is now moving to a new web service.
