UPDATE: Police not calling the shooting in LaVergne a Robbery at this point

We have more news on a shooting that unfolded in LaVergne Sunday night around 8:30 PM. WGNS spoke to LaVergne Assistant Police Chief Keith Lowery who stated...

"The victim was sitting in his vehicle in the driveway when he was approached by a gunman who uttered brief dialog and opened fire. The victim was struck multiple times and ran from the assailant. The assailant gave brief chase and then quickly left the area. The motive of this attack is still undetermined."

The victim was flown by Life Flight Helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was treated overnight and released on Monday. Assistant Chief Lowery told us that the victims name is not being released at this time.
