Shooting reported in LaVergne Wednesday night

WGNS has more news on the woman who was shot while in her car Wednesday night in LaVergne.

Reports indicate that five people who worked at Cinram were escorted out of the building after getting into a disagreement. As one car with a married man and woman in it who worked at Cinram were driving onto Industrial Blvd., a second car with three of the five individuals in it allegedly opened fire. One shot hit the female who was with her husband. The three people in the second vehicle have been arrested.

Devonte Ruff has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Conspiracy and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm during a Commission of a Felony. Kayla Dixon and Kaitlynn Allen were each charged with Criminal Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder.

Meanwhile, the woman who was hit by the bullet whose name is not being released is recovering after being struck in the back. She was taken to Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna and later to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. LaVergne Public Information Officer Kathy Tyson told WGNS on Thursday afternoon, "She is to our knowledge in stable condition."

On Wednesday night in LaVergne, a drive by shooting was reported. One woman was injured when she says that three people pulled up next to her car and started firing.

The female was shot once in the back. She was transported to StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna where she was last listed in stable condition.

LaVergne police believe the female was targeted and it was not a random act of violence. However, the motive is not known at this time. A description of the suspect has not been released by detectives.
