Siegel High School Band Wins the 38th Annual Music City Invitational in Nashville, TN

The Siegel High School Band has won the 38th Annual Music City Invitational (MCI) marching band competition at McGavock High School in Nashville, TN on October 15th. This is the 4th time that the Siegel Band has been Grand Champion and brought home the Mayor's Cup trophy at MCI.

The contest was comprised of 20 talented marching bands across 4 states, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Mississippi, and represented four band class sizes. Siegel finished in 2nd place in Class AAAA preliminary awards and received the AAA/AAAA Outstanding Music Award. The band then performed in finals, competing against 12 outstanding bands to win the Outstanding Overall Music Performance Trophy, Outstanding Overall General Effect Trophy, Large Division Mayor's Cup and Grand Champion!

On Saturday, October 22nd the Siegel Band competed at the prestigious 55th Annual Contest of Champions at MTSU. The Siegel High School Band finished with a Superior award and 2nd place trophy in preliminary AAA competition. The band then went on to win 2nd place in the finals competition as the 2016 Reserve Grand Champion! This was the highest ranking for the Siegel Band since 2011.

Siegel's 2016 show is entitled "1001 Nights - The Stories of Scheherazade". The band is under the direction of Alex White and Alex Sears.

The next competition stop for the Siegel Band will be this coming Saturday at the Bands of American Super Regional Championships at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. They will then travel to Acworth, GA to compete at the US Bands West Georgia Regional competition.
