Jon Dinkins with the call on NewsRadio WGNS. Siegel had to fight back through the loser's bracket after a tournament opening loss to Summit. But beat Collierville, Sevier County and then Summit twice to get to the championship game. It's the first Class Triple-A state title in baseball for Rutherford County since 2002, when current Siegel coach Craig Reavis lead the La Vergne Wolverines to the title. It's the first state title for District 7-Triple-A since the 1999 and 2000 Oakland Patriots.

The Siegel Lady Stars' softball season ended in a loss in the Class Triple-A state title game. They dropped a heartbreaking 6-3 decision to Dickson County, who forced them into the loser's bracket the night before. The Lady Cougars managed to take the lead in the fourth, scoring two runs and holding Siegel scoreless the rest of the way. The Lady Stars ended the season with a 49-8 record and are state runner up for the first time in school history.
