The City Murfreesboro will conduct a Public Meeting, Tuesday, March 3, to gather input from business owners and interested citizens regarding proposed amendments to the City Sign Ordinance concerning Temporary Signs and Exempt Signs.

  • Some of the changes would allow the use of more temporary signs on a property. That number would go from three temporary signs to four.
  • The codes that allow for large signs in that are 64-square feet in size would also be changed requiring signs to be smaller a maximum of 32-square feet in size.
  • The height of signs would also have to be reduced in certain zones from 16-feet to only 12-feet.
  • More "convenience" signs would be allowed at businesses. Convenience signs are enter and exit type signs.

Representatives from the Building & Codes Department will be available to provide details on the proposed amendments. Members of the City Council will also attend to hear from the community.
