Smyrna Man Alleges Bomb in Home

Smyrna Police have arrested a man who allegedly made a bomb threat. Kenneth Champion of Stokes Drive in Smyrna was arrested after a short standoff with authorities Monday. Smyrna Police received a 9-1-1 call from Champion, who said he had a bomb inside his home. Turns out there was no bomb, however, Stokes Drive and Richland Avenue were both closed during the investigation. Champion is being charged with felony filing a false report and was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
