Smyrna Man Arrested in Kentucky Trying to Elude Authorities

A 23-year old Smyrna man has been arrested in Kentucky, trying to elude authorities on a bike. Kentucky State Police report Hysen Krqeli passed a state trooper in Christian County Saturday night around 8:30, reportedly going over 100 miles per hour.

In order to elude police, they report he reached speeds of over 150 miles per hour on the Pennyrile Parkway. After getting off an exit, police lost sight of him. But it wasn't long until they found he'd wrecked after hitting a sign nearby.

After being taken to the hospital for treatment, he was arrested on several charges, including:

  • operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license
  • fleeing and evading 1st degree (motor vehicle)
  • endangerment 1st degree
  • operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • drug paraphernalia
