The Smyrna Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.

The robbery unfolded on Wednesday night around 8:15 (9/20/17). Police told WGNS that the suspect entered the Dollar General Store on the Old Nashville Highway near Rock Springs Road in Smyrna. He was wearing a blue ball cap, a brown jacket, a hoody with blue jeans. The man was also wearing black sneakers with white soles on the bottom. He was described as a black male.

Police say they saw a yellow sport bike in the area of the store directly after the robbery occurred. The bike left at high rate of speed as police pulled up. It is unknown if the operator of the bike is tied to the crime or not.
