Officer Gary Schoon was taken to at StoneCrest Hospital. He was treated and released after being slightly injured from the airbag deployment. Chief Kevin Arnold says Officer Schoon was at the red light, in his patrol car when he was hit, head-on. The other driver, Nathan Yerbich said it was raining so hard he couldn't see the light was red. Yerbich received minor injuries in the crash and was cited for running a red light.
