As the City of Murfreesboro grows, so does the traffic. WGNS' Dan Eidem says that's one reason the Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to move forward with the construction of a new bridge over Broad Street.
VERBATIM: The new $17-million bridge will take about three years to construct. The state claims that long after it is finished, it will see as many as 72,000 vehicles daily. A past University of Tennessee study shows that by year 2035, the population of Rutherford County will reach 600,000 residents. T-DOT will hold an information community meeting on February 4th in the Murfreesboro City Hall to discuss the bridge with residents. The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30. Dan Eidem, WGNS News.
