Middle Tennessee Electric purchased the 150 acres on Veterans Parkway last year. Plans are in place to build a corporate campus complete with trails, a pond and a pavilion on the property.

The plans call for construction to take place in four different phases of development near the Berkshire and Cloister subdivisions. The phases will take anywhere from 20 to 30-years to fully construct. In a sense, the campus will grow as the utility provider continues to grow with Middle Tennessee.

Middle Tennessee Electric was formed by farmers and homeowners in 1936. The electric provider is the state's largest electric cooperative and the sixth largest in the United States. Even though Middle Tennessee Electric is based in Murfreesboro, they serve Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson, Canon and multiple counties in the surrounding area.
