A 25-year sentence has been handed down to a Rutherford County man after pleading guilty to the kidnapping and attempted murder of his stepmother.

Timir Tyneil Clark of Smyrna was arrested in October of 2010 after allegedly attacking his mother in her home, bounding her with a restraint and then stabbing her multiple times. Clark put his stepmother into her car and then set the car on fire. 48-Year old Latorcia Clark survived the attack, but was seriously injured.

Reports indicate after the incident, Clark was rescued by her husband Stanley Clark. Clark found his wife in the burning car after returning home from a high school football game.

The 25-year old suspect will not be released from prison until he is 47-years of age.
