A South Rutherford Boulevard man was shot near his home. The incident happened around 2:45 Saturday morning near the intersection of South Rutherford and Mercury Boulevard. The victim, 27 year old Nicholas Parks was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, where he spoke with police. He said he was shot by a black male but no further information was given surrounding the circumstances in the shooting. Parks was then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center by ambulance.
