Special Event: Civil War Reenactors to Remember Christmas at the Rutherford Co. Courthouse Saturday Night

There will be a Civil War Christmas ball at the Rutherford county courthouse on Saturday December 22nd from 5pm until 8pm. This will commemorate the Christmas eve 1862 ball that was held prior to the Battle of Stones River. 
 
The courthouse will be decorated with period decorations, a band and Civil War reenactors will be in full uniform. WGNS was told that ladies in ball gowns will also be a festive part of the Saturday night event. 
 
The following day on Sunday December 30th at 2pm there will be a memorial service for the Confederates that were killed in the Battle. This will be held at the Confederate Circle in Evergreen Cemetery. National Historian Thomas Cartwright will be the guest speaker.
