Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center announced Thursday that an anonymous investor has pledged to match every donation from individuals in the month of November up to a total of $20,000.

The November DOUBLE Campaign for the kids began in mid-October and will run through the month of November. Currently, the local nonprofit has received over $9,000 in donations that will be matched by the anonymous investor.

"We are so excited to partner with this anonymous donor in order to double all individual gifts through the November Double Campaign!" said Noel Deal, Special Kids director of investments. "This investor has been involved with Special Kids for several years and has a heart for wanting to see more individuals give at a higher level to the organization."

The therapy and nursing center for children with special needs was founded on the pillar that no child would be turned away due to a family's inability to pay for services. In 2013, investments from the community funded over 40% of the organization's operating costs and allowed Special Kids to treat 437 children in need.

With the recent expansion of the new Special Kids Therapy Center, the nonprofit more than doubled its treatment space, going from 5,600 square feet in its original facility to adding another 7,000 square feet. The space addition will allow the organization to serve twice as many children in the years to come.

"We have literally doubled our space to be able to treat double the number of children," said Ginger Spencer, Special Kids director of marketing. "And now, thanks to our anonymous investor, every donation will have double the impact for the children we serve."

To join in the November DOUBLE Campaign, donations can be made online at specialkidstn.com/donate or by mail to Special Kids at 2208 E. Main Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 2,700 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
