The Blue Raiders became bowl eligible while four area football teams continue their quest for a state championship. Middle Tennessee put together 556 yards of total offense en route to a 48-0 shutout over FIU at the annual Armed Forces and Veterans game at Floyd Stadium. Saturday's victory propelled the Raiders to their sixth win, marking the fourth time in five years MT has reached bowl eligibility.

Prep football winners were Oakland, Siegel and Blackman, which eliminated Smyrna from the playoffs. This week, Siegel will travel to Oakland. That game will be on WGNS State Farm Prep Football this Friday night. Blackman will travel to Ravenwood and Eagleville, which received a first round bye, will host Loretto.
