MSC officials said the Bash in the ‘Boro soccer tournaments in the fall and spring are Middle Tennessee’s signature youth soccer events.

“The level of competition and the quality of our complex have made our club’s Bash in the ‘Boro events the destination soccer tournaments for Middle Tennessee,” said MSC President Leanna Wright. “We welcome clubs from across the region and the country to Rutherford County twice a year. It is great soccer and really puts Rutherford County on the map in the national youth sports scene.”

Soccer has already brought national recognition to Rutherford County and Murfreesboro. National website Livability.com ranked Murfreesboro one of the top 10 soccer cities in the U.S. along with Chapel Hill, N.C. and Scottsdale, AZ.

Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture said Bash in the ‘Boro tournaments and the national profile of the Siegel Soccer Complex has had a positive economic impact on the county.

Latture noted this weekend’s tournament brings 500 hotel rooms nights booked in the county, a significant economic boost. “Soccer in Rutherford County brings a better quality of life for our families and real economic impact to our businesses,” Latture said. “Between the hotel rooms and the spike we will see in retail spending, these tournaments are significant events for our local business community.”
