For the 19th time in the last 20-years, a Rutherford County high school football team is in the state's final four. The Siegel Stars become the fourth local team to reach at least the semifinals since 1993. The only year there wasn't a semifinalist was 1996. Riverdale, Oakland and Smyrna have combined for seven state championships and six runner-up trophies over the years.

The Stars will host two-time defending 6-A state champion Maryville Friday night at Ken Nolan Stadium. Both teams are 13-and-oh on the year. Siegel, which has already shattered school history books this year, will try to add a Blue Cross Bowl appearance to their resume. Coverage of the semifinal contest between Siegel and Maryville begins at 6:30 Friday night here on WGNS State Farm Prep Football. Kickoff is at 7 o'clock. Let's all get out and support the Stars and take your radio's to the game.
