Murfreesboro Parks and Rec.'s Start Smart basketball is a developmentally appropriate introductory basketball program for children 2-4 years old. The program prepares children and their parents for organized basketball in a fun and safe environment.

The programs focuses on teaching children skills in dribbling, ball handling, passing, catching, shooting and agility with age appropriate basketball goals and ball; all with the assistance of their parents.

The season concluded with a game, with no score kept, as programs 25-participants being divided into equal teams and everyone getting to play at the same time.
