State Budget Approved

The Tennessee Legislature has given the green light to their $31.5 billion annual spending plan. The budget plan will now be sent to the governor for his signature. The budget slashes the death tax and also cuts taxes on groceries. The new budget also places $50-million in the states rainy day fund.

BULLETIN: New Hours at Social Security Office
The Murfreesboro Social Security Office has reduced public office hours 30-minutes each weekday. It is now open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. PLUS: the office now closes at NOON every Wednesday. Social Security employees will continue to work their regular shifts, but this change allows time for face-to-face consultations as well as processing more claims.
