State Representative Rick Womick Made Lt. Col. in State Guard

State Representative Rick Womick (R–Rockvale) was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Tennessee State Guard during an official swearing-in ceremony that took place in Nashville.

The appointment, which was made by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, bestows upon Representative Womick all of the duties required upon him as an officer of the State Guard, including responding to any calls by the Governor for assistance with disaster relief, humanitarian causes, medical support, and assisting the National Guard and other branches of military to ensure the well-being and safety of the citizenry of Tennessee.

 

Currently, the Tennessee State Guard is headquartered in Nashville and consists of approximately 500 personnel.

 

Womick commented, “It is an honor to be a part of such an awesome group of committed volunteers who are selflessly dedicating their time and service to their fellow Tennessee citizens.”

Rick Womick serves as Vice-Chairman of the House Civil Justice Committee and is a member of the House Consumer and Human Resources Committee. He lives in Rockvale and represents District 34, which includes a portion of Rutherford County.
