Rutherford County’s State Senators Bill Ketron and Jim Tracy are seeking photos of Rutherford County Vietnam War veterans who were killed in action in order to honor the fallen heroes at a new facility which compliments the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington DC.

The photos will be part of a multimedia display at the new Education Center at the Wall, which will be built between the existing Wall and the Lincoln Memorial.  The effort is part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF).  Ketron and Tracy were enlisted to help in the initiative by Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville) who is heading up the effort statewide.

“The Education Center already has photos for 596 soldiers of the 1,295 Tennesseans who are listed on ‘The Wall’ in Washington,” said Senator Ketron.  “We are looking for photos for the remaining 699 heroes so that they are honored in a way they so richly deserve.”

“As we begin the July 4th holiday, we are reminded that we live in the home of the free because of the brave,” added Senator Tracy.  “The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is a tremendous visual reminder of the sacrifices paid by many American soldiers.  This is an effort to compliment the wall by adding a face to the name.”
