Dan Whittle photo exhibit at Arts Center of Cannon County
May 25-June 30, 2012 Dan Whittle's photo art is on display at the Arts Center of Cannon County (1424 John Bragg Highway in neighboring Woodbury). Admission is free to the Marly Berger Gallery. This well known journalist-photographer-author has creative nature photos and captures life in action through the lens of his camera. Middle Half Marathon
Sat. (Oct. 13, 2012) 7AM 6th Annual Middle Half Marathon and Murph's Fun Run. The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. Nikki Giovanni: "Life in the Bottoms"
Tue (May 29, 2012) 5:30PM Renowned social activist and poet Nikki Giovanni will speak at New Vision Baptist Church (1750 N. Thompson Lane). "Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Then at 6:30PM oral history reports from the field school will be presented. At 7:30PM Giovanni will present her talk, “Something called progress killed my grandmother: Urban Renewal and African American Neighborhoods.” Tickets are $25 and available at the Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center. StoneCrest Medical Center CEO, Mark Sims, welcomes Amit K. Singh to the Rutherford County medical community. Dr. Singh has joined StoneCrest Internal Medicine, part of TriStar Medical Group.

Dr. Singh received his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He then completed an internal medicine residency at George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Singh is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Prior to joining StoneCrest Internal Medicine, Dr. Singh practiced at Carolina Internal Medicine in Conway, SC.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Singh to the StoneCrest family,” said Sims. “His experience and passion will allow him to provide Rutherford County with exceptional primary care, right in our community.
