Stones River Manor in Murfreesboro is celebrating their 38th anniversary. The facility on Haynes Drive first opened their doors to serve senior citizens in Rutherford County in 1977. At the time, the facility was Murfreesboro's first home for the elderly, and later became the first licensed assisted living facility in Rutherford County.

"The Manor" began with just 29 rooms, but has grown over the years to accommodate more than 100 residents. In addition to assisted living, the Manor also offers independent living apartments in both one and two bedroom configurations.

Stones River Manor opened Murfreesboro's first licensed Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Facility in 1994 with a secured 22-bed facility known as its Assured Care Unit. The Manor is a very active partner with the local Alzheimer's Association, and has been since its inception. The growing need for Alzheimer's and dementia care has become an important facet of the Manor's operation, and a new, updated Assured Care Facility is in the works as part of their ongoing expansion plan.

In 2005, the Manor underwent a complete renovation of its facilities, updating the interior décor and expanding its dietary facility with a beautiful new dining room. Residents can enjoy three meals a day served restaurant style in a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Parking was also expanded and the outside areas were upgraded with new sidewalks and improved landscaping completely surrounding the facility.

In the fall of 2007, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Stones River Manor opened its brand new Health & Wellness Center, providing occupational, speech and physical therapy services for its residents as well as outpatient services for the community.

Again, Stones River Manor is celebrating their 38th anniversary this year.
