Survey Shows Some of Tennessee's Best Schools in Rutherford County

According to just released school rankings by Niche.com, Rutherford County has some of the best schools in the state.

Niche.com calculates their rankings based on academic grades, an overall school district experience to include facilities, sports and safety, teacher surveys and student diversity.

Rutherford County Schools ranks eighth in the state of Tennessee and second in the Nashville Metro area behind Williamson County.

Central Magnet School ranks second in the state among the best high schools. Siegel High School is ranked 24th. Blackman comes in 28th and Eagleville 31st to round out the top 50.

There are nine local middle schools in the state's top 50. They include Stewarts Creek at 20, Siegel at 24, Rockvale at 25, Christiana at 26, Blackman at 28, Whitworth-Buchanan at 32, La Vergne at 37, Oakland at 42 and Smyrna Middle at 48.

The Discovery School at Reeves-Rogers comes in at 4 in the ranking of the best elementary schools in the state. McFadden School of Excellence is 36th and Lascassas 49th. Erma Siegel, Stewarts Creek, Walter Hill, Wilson, Barfield, Rock Springs, La Vergne Lake, David Youree, Rockvale, Buchanan, Blackman, Smyrna Primary, Smyrna, Scales and John Coleman are all in the top 100.
