The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. "Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Having pride in preserving history is one thing, but going the extra mile to promote the rich heritage of our community is another. Susan Grear volunteers her time regularly to promote the beautiful downtown square. A recent example is the time she spent with others to make the lighting of our County Christmas tree an event to be remembered. But then Susan Grear volunteers for many causes that benefit the people of our community.
