Minutes later, police located Quentin Jerome Bass and took him back to the scene where witnesses positively identified him.

Bass was charged with failure to render aid, failure to give law enforcement notice of the wreck, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license.

Prior to police arresting Bass, he reportedly told officers that he was attacked on the Old Nashville Highway during a drug deal. He suggested, after the attack took place, the culprits who attacked him stole his Cadillac. However, police determined that information to be false and charged Bass with filing a false report.
