Suspect arrested who was the victim of a shooting in Murfreesboro

The identity of the deceased man who was killed in a shooting at The Vie apartment complex this past Friday has been confirmed through the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (T.B.I.) and the Medical Examiner's office. The victim has been identified as 23 year old Donte Bernard Johnson from Bartlett, TN.

The individual who was located later and transported to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the left leg has been identified as 25 year old Brandon Deangelo Herman, from Chattanooga, TN. He was treated and released from St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Upon his discharge, Herman was arrested on unrelated charges from Alabama. He is in the Rutherford County jail awaiting extradition back to that state.

Major Clyde Adkison told WGNS, "The shooting is still under investigation at this time. We are hoping that a witness will come forward in this homicide."
