Suspect in Riverview Subdivision "Aggravated Kidnapping" Case Headed to Trial on Friday

Friday, October 4th has been set aside for a Circuit Court trial in Rutherford County involving a 24-year old man accused of an alleged home invasion that reportedly took place in 2012. George A. Mikita will face an aggravated kidnapping charge, aggravated burglary charge, vandalism and a charge of theft on Friday (10/04/13). The trial is scheduled to get underway at 9, Friday morning. It was originally scheduled to take place September 6th, but that did not occur. 

The alleged home invasion occurred on Newton Avenue between Wiltshire and Haynes Drive in the Riverview Subdivision. When the incident was said to have occurred, Mikita was on parole for an aggravated burglary, theft, assault and false imprisonment conviction that happened in Sullivan County, Tennessee.

According to our original news story from June of 2012, Mikita, allegedly forced the victim into her bedroom and stole two laptop computers and a phone. Police later tracked the suspect down by using the GPS tracking device within the phone.
