Dan Whittle photo exhibit at Arts Center of Cannon County
May 25-June 30, 2012 Dan Whittle's photo art is on display at the Arts Center of Cannon County (1424 John Bragg Highway in neighboring Woodbury). Admission is free to the Marly Berger Gallery. This well known journalist-photographer-author has creative nature photos and captures life in action through the lens of his camera. Middle Half Marathon
Sat. (Oct. 13, 2012) 7AM 6th Annual Middle Half Marathon and Murph's Fun Run. The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. Nikki Giovanni: "Life in the Bottoms"
Tue (May 29, 2012) 5:30PM Renowned social activist and poet Nikki Giovanni will speak at New Vision Baptist Church (1750 N. Thompson Lane). "Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Then at 6:30PM oral history reports from the field school will be presented. Teen to Face Aggravated Robbery Charge

Aggravated robbery is the charge that one teenager will face in court next month after being named a suspect in an investigation by the Murfreesboro Police Department. 18-Year old Monolito M. Benford-Wade was arrested by authorities after he was identified by the robbery victim. The aggravated robbery apparently occurred on South Rutherford Boulevard on November 11^th.

According to Tennessee law, aggravated robbery is a robbery in which the victim is seriously harmed or the suspect displays a weapon while committing the crime. If a suspect is found guilty of aggravated robbery, the suspect could be sentenced to spend 3 to 15-years behind bars.
