The annual Polar Bear Plunge run and swim was held at the Sports Com outdoor pool on Saturday morning. The temperature in the outdoor pool was a cold 37-degrees while the outside temps were sitting at 35-degrees. That being said, it was COLD! (Click for pictures)

Several hundred people showed up to take the plunge and they didn’t stay long. They jumped out as quickly as they jumped in. Last year people actually stayed in the pool for several minutes - - that was not the case this year. Ice could be seen in the kiddie pool and icicles had formed on the kiddie pool play equipment, as seen in our pictures at WGNSradio.com and on FaceBook.com.WGNSradio.

This year, residents brought canned food items that were donated to Greenhouse ministries. Those canned food items will be distributed to local residents in need.
