A check written on the account of a local nonprofit foundation somehow ended up in Richmond, Virginia.

Murfreesboro Police are investigating a case of check fraud reported by the Rutherford ROMP Foundation. Rutherford Romp is an annual 5K and 10K race that helps to raise money for several local non-profits.

The check in question was made out to a woman by the name of Stephanie Langenes of Chesterfield, Virginia. It is not yet known if that was the culprits real name. The check was made out of $2,734.18.

So far, no arrests have been made.
