The Child Advocacy Center Thanks the Community for Their Support!

"We want to thank our wonderful community for all of their incredible support of the first annual CAC Prize Patrol!" announced Child Advocacy Center board president Terry Fann. "We want to say a huge thank you to Beth Parker, Dara Payne, and Kristan Roberts of the Prize Patrol Committee, Brittany Brandon and Rutherford Parent Magazine, The Avenue, Belk, sponsors, businesses that were prize donors and sales sites, vendors at the Spring Kidz Fest, media partners, volunteers, and everyone who purchased a chance to win."

On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the Rutherford Parent Spring Kidz Fest was held at The Avenue in the Belk parking lot and included free children's activities, games, vendor booths, food vendors, inflatables, live stage performances, balloon art, and face painting.

During the Kidz Fest, the Child Advocacy Center had a huge wind booth set up. CAC Prize Patrol committee members pulled the winning tickets out of the wind booth. Each person whose ticket was drawn won one of the 21 fabulous prizes valued at over $12,000.

Latimer, Dotty Adams, Ben Ezell, Charles Farrer Sr., mark Elbaum, Nathan Nichols, Chuck Farrer, Cliff Sharp, and Angela Benzy.

The CAC Prize Patrol generous event sponsors were: Sudsy's Car Wash, Bill and Lucy Whitesell, SledgeCraft Architectural Millwork, Elizabeth Renegar Parker, Andy Womack State Farm, James and Dara Payne Benchmark Realty, Hubert and Dene McCullough, Peddler Antiques Gifts and Interiors, Larry Bugg Construction, Tasty Creations, Scott and Karen Hoke, and Phyllis Reuhland.

The fantastic media sponsors included the Cannon County Courier, Daily News Journal, Hob Nob Murfreesboro, Murfreesboro.com, Murfreesboro Post, VIP Murfreesboro, WBRY Radio, and WGNS Radio.

The sales distribution sites were Sudsy's Car Wash, Cannon County Courthouse, Department of Children's Services, District Attorney's Office, Gil's Hardware, Just Love Coffee, La Vergne Police Department, Murfreesboro Police Department, Murfreesboro Police Department CID Office, Penny's Closet, Potter's Ace Hardware, Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, Smyrna Police Department, Top of the Block, Woodbury Farmer's Co-op, Woodbury Police Department, businesses around the Murfreesboro Square and at The Avenue.

The Prize Patrol Committee thanks the 120 businesses that generously donated prizes for the 21 amazing prize packages and the individuals that purchased the 1,709 tickets.

Child Advocacy Center director Sharon De Boer said, "This event never would have been possible without all of you and the Child Advocacy Center is grateful for everyone's support."

All proceeds from the CAC Prize Patrol will support services for victims of child abuse, child sexual abuse, and drug endangered children. In the last 16 years, the Child Advocacy Center in collaboration with the Department of Children's Services, law enforcement and the District Attorney's Office have investigated 12,237 child abuse cases and assisted 17,311 individuals in Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

"We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day on Saturday for all of the children and families to enjoy the Rutherford Parent Spring Kidz Fest and the CAC Prize Patrol," continued director Sharon De Boer. "It was a wonderful new event and we are already looking forward to next year."
