Main Street's annual "The Summer Party" was held Friday night (7/22/2016) at "The Grove", across from the Avenue of Murfreesboro.

Proceeds benefit Main Street Murfreesboro, a 501-C-3 that preserves the historic beauty of the Heart of Tennessee's historic district.

Executive Director Kathleen Herzog said, "It's easy to forget that Main Street is a not-for-profit organization, and community support is crucial to its success and to the success of our downtown."

The Main Street Program is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center and follows the tenets of that program. Main Street capitalizes on the unique character of the courthouse square and the surrounding business district with the goal of transforming it into the cultural, social, professional and retail center of Rutherford County ... in essence, the hub of community life.
