The annual Read To Succeed Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon was held at Kingwood Church of Christ on Wednesday, May 8.  Those honored truly epitomized the word volunteer.  The gathering included tutors, ESL teachers, learners, community leaders, churches and corporations that have dedicated their time to celebrating literacy and raising literacy awareness in the past year.

In addition to these awards, Read To Succeed also recognizes volunteers each month with the honor of being a “Shining Star”.  Those recognized in 2012-2013 include: Michelle Palmer, Butler Touchton, Brian Mackey, Becca & Anna Beth Campbell, Evelyn Elder, Jenae Matikke, Marty Hull, Leslie Akins, Olive Branch Church, The Zietz Family, Sue McCormick, Ca’Tricia Robinson, and Living Truth Christian Center.
