Sep 04, 2013 at 01:45 am by bryan

Unknown persons have been using stolen checks that belong to an elderly woman in Murfreesboro in recent days. The checks total over $10,000 so far. The police report that was filed several days ago at the Murfreesboro Police Department documents the fact that three different names were used as signatures on the 12 checks in question.

WGNS is not releasing the name that was signed on the checks at this point, because the name may reveal the identity of the victim. We will however report that the checks were written on a First Tennessee banking account and the next number in sequence is check 298.
