Thirsty Thief Steals 96-Cans of Beer

Somebody was thirsty. 96-cans of beer were stolen from the Kroger Store on Memorial Boulevard Monday evening. The theft occurred just before 6. The suspect, who was cited for shoplifting, allegedly placed four cases of Bud Light in his shopping cart and then tried to walk out of the store without paying for the drinks. The loss prevention officer at the store spotted the culprit and told him the police have been called. The culprit patiently waited for the authorities and was issued a misdemeanor citation for shoplifting. WGNS is not releasing the man’s name because an arrest was not made, only a citation was written.
