THP Asking For Help In Mysterious Christmas Death On I-40

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) needs the public's help to solve a tragic death Christmas morning on I-40 at mile marker 364 in Roane County.  

Around 2:30 on the morning of December 25th THP dispatchers received a call that a body of a white male, approximately in his early 40’s, was found on the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 364.

State Troopers, Criminal Investigations Agents, along with members of the Critical Incident Response Team, were dispatched to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates the man either jumped or fell from a moving vehicle and his body was then struck by at least one other vehicle. 

There were no vehicles found in the vicinity of the victim.  The body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office and the identification is pending.

This incident remains under investigation.
