The Murfreesboro Police Department recently announced the promotions of Captain Cary Gensemer, Sergeant Bobby Holloway, and Sergeant Clayton Williams.
Cary Gensemer was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain over Traffic and Special Services in the Uniformed Division. Captain Gensemer began his career with MPD in 1999 and served as a Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, Special Operations Unit Entry Team Leader, Sergeant and Lieutenant. He has received numerous commendations including several for the apprehension of dangerous fugitives. Gensemer will supervise traffic programs, the K-9 program and other patrol related functions.
Bobby Holloway was promoted from Police Officer to Sergeant over the Parks and Recreation function of the Department. Sergeant Holloway began his career with MPD in 2001 and has worked in Patrol and Parks as a police officer. He received several commendations throughout his career and was recently commended for helping endangered kayakers on the Stones River. Holloway will supervise the Parks and Recreation police patrol program and coordinate events in Murfreesboro.
Clayton Williams was promoted from Motorcycle Officer to Sergeant over the Motorcycle Unit. Sergeant Williams began his career with MPD in 2004 and has worked on the motorcycle most of his career. Sergeant Williams will now supervise the Motorcycle Unit which consists of eight (8) officers whose primary function is to reduce vehicle crashes through high visibility enforcement of traffic laws and investigate serious injury vehicle crashes. Williams has received numerous commendations throughout his career and is considered one of the best police motorcycle instructors in the state.
