Evening thunderstorms pack a powerful punch across Rutherford County. Storms began rolling through around 5:30 yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, dumping heavy rain and bringing high winds. Nickle size hail was reported in the Barfield area and there were reports of tree limbs down across the county. As much as two-inches of rain fell in a very short time, causing some flash flooding in already saturated areas.
