Time to review the Murfreesboro budget

The Murfreesboro City Council will meet in a special session at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, and Thursday, May 28, 2015, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, for the purpose reviewing the proposed Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget.

For the 17th consecutive year, Murfreesboro's $134 million Fiscal Year 2015-16 proposed budget does not call for a property tax hike and maintains expected municipal service levels to the over 116,000 residents of the community. The proposed budget would take effect July 1, 2015, following review and approval by the Council.

What: The proposed FY 2016 Budget will be reviewed by the City Council. Outside agencies and several city departments will be reviewed.

City Council will conduct a Public Hearing, June 4, 2015, to consider first reading of the FY 2016 Budget ordinance. Subsequent readings would be considered on June 11 and June 18.
