TN Lawmaker Wants to Pay Expectant Mom's for Doctor Visits

Here’s a bizarre idea…. One republican lawmaker wants to pay expectant mom’s $50 each time they visit the doctors office for a check-up. Senator Brian Kelsey of Germantown thinks the idea would help reduce the number of infant deaths in the state if it were a statewide program. Kelsey first wants to start the paid check-up program in the Memphis area as a pilot program before it becomes state wide.
