Today is the day for the trial involving the mosque that is being built in Murfreesboro. The trial deals with Rutherford County and asks if the county did or did not give adequate public notice that a mosque was proposed to be built on a Veals Road plat of land. Those against the mosque claim the county failed to notify the public of the intentions of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro to build a mosque.

As far as construction goes, the mosque has already tackled their first phase and are about to begin phase two of construction. WGNS also found that the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is in the midst of a fundraising campaign to raise enough funds to cover the costs of construction. To date, the Muslims have raised $1.7-million. Their new goal is to raise just over $2-million.
