TSSAA Spring Fling is well underway in Rutherford County

The TSSAA Spring Fling, an Olympic-style event featuring the state's top athletes, got underway on Tuesday in Rutherford County. The events take place throughout this week ending on May 22, 2015. The best high school athletes in the state are competing for championships in tennis, baseball, softball, soccer, and track & field.

The games are held at 13 different venues across Rutherford County, this week-long event brings in 5,000 athletes and approximately 25,000 spectators. Forty-four champions are crowned in five days during this exciting week of competitions.

Rutherford County has hosted Spring Fling since 2006 and currently has the contract through 2017. It takes approximately 1,000 community volunteers to make this event happen each year.
