A kidney transplant involving two members of the La Vergne Police Department went well on Tuesday. Sgt. Chip Davis who has been with the force for the past 17 years, had two failing kidneys so fellow Officer Eric Crowder came to his aid.

Crowder, who donated a kidney to Davis, spent eight hours in the operating room at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville on Tuesday to ensure that Davis could live a longer life.

Both Crowder and Davis have two young daughters which was part of the motivating factor of Davis donating a kidney to his friend.
