A situation that was labeled as an attempted carjacking was reported in Murfreesboro this past Saturday. The incident was said to have occurred as the complainant was leaving Walmart on South Rutherford Boulevard. The man claimed that two unknown persons followed him as he drove away from the store and once at the intersection of Mercury Boulevard and Middle Tennessee Boulevard one subject walked up to his car armed with a handgun. The suspect allegedly told the victim to get out of his vehicle. The victim evidently floored it and drove until he saw a Murfreesboro Police Officer.

Once in contact with police, local officers investigated the incident and tracked down a silver Toyota that one of the subjects may have been driving. The car in question pulled over for police and a back seat passenger in the vehicle jumped out and fled the scene on foot. Police apprehended 18-year old Deandre M. Tillage who was arrested for underage consumption, possession of a schedule IV drug and evading arrest. A female, who was said to be the driver of the car, was arrested as well.

19-Year old Krystin K. McCullough was charged with felony evading arrest. Details in her arrest report show that after the passenger (Mr. Tillage) in the car ran from police, she allegedly drove away. Police were able to catch up with her in a matter of minutes. She claims she drove away because she "Just wasn't thinking." Two other subjects who were originally with the two who were arrested, got away. The teenagers who were arrested did not tell police the identity of their friends.

The two teens are scheduled to be in court on July 16th. Charges for the carjacking incident were not filed.
