U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wants Your Thoughts on a Proposed Wetland Project in Eagleville Area

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are asking for the public’s input on their creation of a wetland mitigation bank on 69-acres of land near Eagleville off of Swamp Road. The Swamp Road Wetland Mitigation Bank serves or impacts the Stones River and the Harpeth River.

The project, according to the public notice that WGNS received, could impact the surrounding property in both negative and positive ways, that is why the public’s input is being requested at this time.

The purpose of similar wetland projects is to build "Credits" which may later be withdrawn to offset "debits" incurred at a permitted project site or construction site elsewhere.  The bank sponsor of the 69-acres in the Eagleville area is "Wetlands Preserve, LLC" and the contact name is "Jeff Duke" in Bon Aqua, Tennessee.

You can submit your thoughts on the project between now and October 6, 2013. The email address is viewable on WGNSradio.com (below).
