The state has released its unemployment numbers for April, and Rutherford County maintained its 6.6 per cent figure. Neighboring Cannon County showed 7.5 per cent of its workforce without jobs, Coffee County had 7.6 per cent, and the statewide average tallied 7.8 per cent. 

Neighboring Williamson County enjoyed the best picture, with only 5.3 per cent of its labor pool unemployed. On the opposite end was Scott County that had the largest number of persons without jobs--15.4 per cent.
