An unresponsive motorist was arrested this past Friday morning around 7:30 at the Broad Street / Florence Road intersection.

When police arrived at the intersection they met with 20 year old Travon Lamont Smotherman who told officers he fell asleep at the light because he was tired after work, but was on the way to his girlfriend's house. Smotherman gave police permission to search his car where they found several Xanax bars that he did not have a prescription for. Police also located several marijuana roaches.

Smotherman admitted to the ownership of the drugs and was arrested. He was charged with simple possession of a schedule four and six drug and driving on a revoked license. Evidently his license was revoked because of his failure to pay past fines.
